The Beginning of Goldie Co and Our Return to Pokémon Cards
Goldie Co didn’t come from some big business plan. It was more like one of those conversations where you suddenly remember how much you used to love something. For us, it was Pokémon cards. The old binders, swapping in the playground, that rush when you pulled something shiny even though you barely knew what you were doing.
Like most people, our childhood collections disappeared somewhere along the way. Lost, given away, or just gone through life happening. We didn’t think much about it until recently, when we grabbed a couple of packs just for fun. One of those “let’s see what the new sets look like now” moments.
And that was it. One pack turned into a few more. Same feeling as when we were kids… just with slightly better lighting and way less self-control. We started checking release dates, learning the new rarities, watching people pull ridiculous hits online, telling ourselves “last one” and never sticking to it.
What surprised us was how many other people were doing the same thing. Parents getting back into it. Collectors who’d taken a break. Players testing new decks. People who hadn’t opened a pack in years suddenly remembering how much they loved it.
So Goldie Co kind of made sense. Not a big operation. Not a huge plan. Just two people who drifted back into the hobby and wanted to create a small, reliable UK spot for real Pokémon cards and real stock. Something simple for anyone who’s collecting again, starting fresh or just chasing that “one good pull”.
If you’re back into Pokémon TCG after years away, or you’re opening your first packs now, you’re already part of the reason this exists.
